Closing of HolTech Services' Online Shop for virtual Renovations

• Due to the number of Products in the HolTech Services' Online Shop and the ever-increasing pace with which technology refreshes are made and the prices modified, it has become necessary to temporarily close the Online Shop to allow significant maintenance to be performed.
  
  This will involve "culling" of some of the Product categories and consolidation of other categories into a more feasible and more quickly updated Product lineup.
  
  

     2 new pages added to HolTech Services' main Website

• Two new pages have recently been added to the HolTech Services' main Website, namely "Affiliates" and "Data Recovery".
  
  The "Affiliates" page deals with our Affiliates, currently "Webroot", for "SpySweeper" software, "Digital Pacific", for Web Hosting services and "Answers That Work", for "TUT: The Ultimate Troubleshooter" software.
  
  The "Data Recovery" page provides background information on Data Recovery services and more specific information on the Data Recovery services that HolTech Services provides.
  
  

     Nearly 4,000 new products added to HolTech Services' Online Shop

• We are pleased to announce that the HolTech Services' Online Shop has now added nearly another 4,000 items to the database, bringing the total number to nearly 10,000.
  
  We wish to reiterate that the Online Shop accepts payments by Credit Cards (both Visa and MasterCard) via PayPal, Direct Credit via Internet, Phone or over-the-counter Banking, Money Orders and Bank or Company Cheque.
  
  Please look for the "Online Shop" button on the Home page, above the Left-Hand Side Navigation Bar. This button will take you directly to the HolTech Services Online Shop.

     At last, the Opening of the HolTech Services' Online Shop

• Despite all the delays, we are pleased to announce that the HolTech Services' Online Shop today opened its "doors" for Business.
  
  We are happy to say that the Online Shop accepts payments by Credit Cards (both Visa and MasterCard) via PayPal, Direct Credit via Internet, Phone or over-the-counter Banking, Money Orders and Bank or Company Cheque. Unfortunately, Personal Cheques are not accepted.
  
  Please look for the "Online Shop" button on the Home page, above the Left-Hand Side Navigation Bar.

     Yet another slight delay for the Opening of the HolTech Services' Online Shop

• Unfortunately there's been yet another delay to the Opening Date for the HolTech Services' Online Shop.
  
  The Beta Testing is vitually complete, but there have been some more major problems with the PayPal module, this time to do with the Shopping Trolley system, rather than PayPal itself.
  
  Therefore, the new scheduled Online Shop Opening Date will be:-
  
  

  1st of June, 2006

  However, this is a concrete date, as the Online Shop will be opening irrespective of the status of the PayPal module at that time. So look for the "Online Shop" button soon.

• Well here's the announcement I've been dreading.
  
  Unfortunately the Opening Date for the HolTech Services' Online Shop has had to be postponed.
  
  Although most of the Beta Testing is going well, there have been some major problems outside my control, due to bugs in PayPal's Testing system.
  
  Therefore, the new scheduled Online Shop Opening Date will be:-

     At Last! - The Opening of the HolTech Services' Online Shop!

• Well, here's the announcement we've all been waiting for, the Opening Date for the HolTech Services' Online Shop.
  
  The HolTech Services' Online Shop is currently in Beta Testing mode, which is going well.
  
  Barring any major problems, the Online Shop Opening Date will be:-
  
  

  1st of May, 2006

  So soon you should be looking for the "Online Shop" button in the navigation areas to the left and the bottom of each page.
  
  The Online Shop will initially feature PC Hardware, PC Software and Digital Cameras.
  
  We hope to soon be offering PC Games for sale as well. In the future we will be providing Mobile Phones and even more brands of PDA's.
  
  As mentioned previously, initially we will only be offering products for sale to Australia and it's territories (Norfolk Island, etc), however down the track we hope to offer products for sale to New Zealand residents as well.
  
  Stay tuned for further announcements regarding these expanded delivery areas and product lines.

• Well, here's the "Watch this space" announcement prior to Christmas!
  
  The HolTech Services' Online Shop is going well.
  
  Because of the approximate 6,500 products, it is taking a little longer than expected, but better to do it right than do it quickly.
  
  Initially, we will only be offering products for sale to Australia and it's territories, however down the track we hope to offer products for sale to New Zealand residents as well.
  
  We expect the Shop to be open early in the New Year.
  
  

     Coming Soon! - The HolTech Services' Online Shop.

• After a long and painful set up period, we are in the final throes of installing the HolTech Services E-Commerce facility, the HolTech Services' Online Shop.
  
  In it's initial guise, we will have nearly 6,500 products in our catalogue and more will be added over a period of time.
  
  These products include all forms of PC hardware, various PC Software packages, as well as digital cameras and digital camera accessories.
  
  PC Hardware includes such items as: Cables, Cases & Power Supplies, DVD Burners, Processors, Digital Graphics Tablets, Hard Disk Drives (HDDs), External HDD Enclosures, Fans, Graphics Cards, Keyboards and Mice, Monitors, Motherboards, Networking Products (including Wireless), Notebooks and PDAs, Printers and Scanners, RAM, Speakers and Headphones, Barebone Systems (Shuttle XPC, etc), UPS' and Surge Protectors, TV Tuners and Web Cameras.
  
  Initially, the PC Software catalogue will feature mainly Microsoft Windows and Office products, as well as the main Anti-Virus and Internet Security software.
  
  However, shortly after opening, we hope to add other popular software, such as Zone Alarm Pro and Adobe Photshop Elements, etc.
  
  As well as Digital Still Cameras, we will be offering Digital Video Cameras and their respective accessories.
  
  In the future we would also like to offer PC Games' Software, as we indulge in PC Games on a regular basis and would also like to consider ourselves as specialist in gaming and performance hardware.

     New Hints & Tips subject - Buying a New PC.

• After a long period spent gathering information, we have now completed another subject in our Hints & Tips section, this one on "Buying a New PC". Although it is of particular interest when buying a new PC, it also includes a lot of generic information, useful at any time.
  
  

     New look Web site!

• After many months of experimenting and comments from Friends of HolTech Services', we now have our new look Web site up and running.
  
  Hopefully, you will now find this an easier to read Web site, but it won't stop here. We will continue to enhance the site to improve both information content and readability.
  
  Let us know whether you like it or not, as we are pleased to accept comments (both positive and negative) about the Web site, so fire us off an email, via the "Contact Us" page and let us know what you think.
  
  This is especially true if you have any formatting problems with the Site, but you can also make suggestions as to content on the Site, especially for the "Hints and Tips" page.

• To further enhance our Links Information page, we have now rated each piece of Software, from 1 to 5 "logos" (the normal stars being replaced by the HolTech Services' logo!).
  
  This should allow you to get even more benefit from this page with much less time and effort.

• We are now providing a live Virus Information feed, courtesy of Trend Micro, publishers of the well-known and respected PC-Cillin.
  
  This page shows the Top 10 Viruses, provides a display of risks for various Virus', a Virus Map displaying information about actual virus infections detected by HouseCall, Trend Micro's free on-line virus scanner for PCs, as well as a list of Related Links, including Hoaxes and the latest Trend Micro PC-Cillin Pattern and Scan Engine updates.

• As the Information Technology (IT) Industry is full of acronyms and abbreviations, we have decided to provide an ongoing Glossary.
  
  On this page we list an explanation for the most common Acronyms and Abbreviations.
  
  We hope you find it useful and informative.
  
  

     New "Hints and Tips" page.

• This page is not only about "Hints and Tips", it's also about Documentation and Education, but that's too big to fit on the Navigation Bar!
  
  This page should help you to understand your Personal Computer (PC) better and may also allow you to perform small, tasks that shouldn't really require a Technician.
  
  It is provided more for the Computer beginner, someone who can navigate the Internet, but not necessarily much more than that.
  
  However, thist doesn't mean that it won't be useful for the Intermediate PC user, just that it will be aimed at people with minimal knowledge.
  
  In the future, we hope to include information aimed more at the Intermediate to Advanced user.
